Length: 8,954 words
Pairing: C/7, J/C
WARNING: This starts out with C/7, but ends up really quickly as J/C...thank goodness. And it sort of ruins 'Endgame'. Oh
what a tragedy...NOT.
It had been three months, four days, six hours and fourteen seconds since they had returned to the Alpha Quadrant and Kathryn
was standing near the pew, of a large church waiting to perform the ceremony that could quite possibly end her life, or at
least everything she hoped her life could be.
The music began, played by yet another former Voyager crewmember. Harry's wedding she had been more than happy to perform, it
seemed that despite the time and the distance, Libby had waited patiently for her fiance to return. And rewarded she had been
as Harry had returned to his love more ready for comittement than ever.
The wedding she was being asked to perform today, went against everything she believed though. It hurt her: she loved him.
She had been sure that once they had returned to the Alpha Quadrant and Voyager was no longer in the way of their blossoming
relationship, it would go forward.
But once Seven had been brought into the picture...her dream was no more.
"We are gathered here today to join two of Voyager's finest. The man who has made a life and a career for many of the Voyager
crew, and the woman who was brought on board to regain her humanity and in doing so helped us ever so humbly get home to our
families."
Kathryn turned away momentarily and wiped the tears from her eyes. To any onlooker it would appear to be a momentary lapse in
her shielding at the emotional occassion that was the wedding of her best friend.
Only she knew - and possibly him - that she was weeping for a moment in time and an opportunity lost.
"Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold until death do you part?"
Seven looked into Chakotay's eyes and Kathryn felt the bile rising in her throat: up from the pit of her stomach for the
marriage she was performing that should have been hers. "I do."
Kathryn turned to Chakotay, "Do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold until death do you
part?"
Chakotay stared at Kathryn, something was not right. He shook his head and turned back to Seven, "I do."
Kathryn took in a deep breath, her fate and his were sealed. "Then by the power vested in me, by Starfleet Command and the
United Federation of Planets, I now pronounce you husband and wife." She drew in yet another deep breath, "You may now kiss
the bride."
Chakotay and Seven swooned together and gave the Voyager crew the show they were waiting for. B'Elanna turned away and threw
up, stating that it was the pregnancy that was forcing her stomach to misbehave; Tom shook his head at the complete idiot
that Chakotay was being, marrying the wrong woman, and to top it all off, asking the right woman to perform the ceremony.
Harry and Libby had refused the invitation, Harry being very protective of his pseudo-mother Kathryn Janeway and refusing to
see her hurt yet again by the one man who was supposed to be there for her forever.
The junior officers - many of whom did not know the command team in their entire being - watched in stunned silence as
Chakotay took the 'Borg Bimbo' for his wife.
Kathryn turned away and let the tears fall, this would be a day that would haunt her for the rest of her life. She slowly
made her way to the hall where the reception was being held.
She simply walked in and stalked over to the punch bowl, and - knowing Tom had spiked it because that's the way Tom was -
took a large swig. And then she took another, and another until eight drinks later an inebriated Kathryn Janeway was hauled
out of the room by a sheepish looking Tom Paris. "Captain, I suggest you limit your beverage intake to water for the moment.
I know this has been a trying time for you, but you really should stop beating yourself up over it: It was his mistake."
Kathryn glared at Tom, "I want coffee."
Tom shook his head, "Drink this water first, then I'll get you a coffee."
Kathryn grabbed the bottle of water from Tom and hissed, "Fine."
*~*~*~*~*
In the main room, Chakotay turned to his new bride. "Seven, if you don't mind I think I'll go check on the Captain."
Seven looked a little perturbed, "Chakotay, you have to stop worrying about her now. She's no longer our commanding officer.
What she does now is her business, not yours."
Chakotay sighed, "Maybe, but she's also my best friend, which makes her my responsibility."
Seven turned around to face him. "She'll never be out of our lives will she Chakotay? She'll always be 'the ghost of a love
you think was meant to be'? She'll always be there to contend with. You have to let her go, she doesn't want you."
Chakotay turned to Seven and nearly growled at her, "Whether she wanted me in that capacity or not, she is still my best
friend and always will be and therefore she will always be a big part of our lives." And with that lasting thought he left
the room. He would deal with Seven and her insecurities later, but right now it was Kathryn who needed him.
*~*~*~*~*
When he got into the hall, he saw Kathryn fighting with Tom over coffee, *Yes this was definately his Kathryn.* "Tom, why
don't you let me take care of her for a little while."
Tom looked at him with a grateful look, and let a sigh of relief escape. "Thanks, Chakotay."
Chakotay grabbed Kathryn's arm and turned her to look at him. "Kathryn, come on. Drink the water. You're going to have one
hell of a hangover - "
His words were stopped by Kathryn's lips on his. It was a searing kiss, and he found himself responding, even though he had
just wed her protegee. "Kathryn, we have to stop. I'm a married man now."
Kathryn gave him a saucy lop-sided grin. "Oh come on Chakotay, this is what you've always wanted: me ready and willing."
Chakotay's mind was spinning as he felt her hauling him into a small, isolated room. "Kathryn, we can't do this; especially
not with you in your current state: You'll never forgive me for taking advantage of you."
Kathryn ripped her shirt open reavealing satin clad cleavage, and Chakotay lost all control. "oh, my" He went to approach the
unbidden territoritory when he came about his sense: "Why now?"
Kathryn approached him like a lion hunting her prey, "Because I'm no longer the Captain, and I can finally have what I want."
Her lips approached his and as the kiss continued and grew more heated, his hand reached up for the clasp to her bra, and all
thoughts of his new bride were gone.
Chakotay reached up to pull down the bra and her breasts bounced out invitingly. Chakotay's eyes got large with arousal and
his hands immediately went to the inviting mounds. "Gods Kathryn, I've dreamt about this for years."
She smiled, that inviting half smile of hers, "And did I live up to expectations?"
He grinned his dimples showing, "So far, so good." He pulled her pants over her hips, and he knew he was finished. Married
less than a day and this is what was happening. His dreams were coming true, but not with the woman he had sworn a lifetime
to.
Kathryn pulled down his trousers and his erection sprang to attention and she bent to her knees enveloping him in her wet
mouth. He was so sensitized, he quickly pulled her head away. "Kathryn, I won't last like this."
She grinned and pulled her underwear down to expose the center he had been waiting for, for years. He plunged into her heat,
and ten minutes later it was over. "Well, we'd better get back to everyone else. Replicate yourself a coffee Kathryn, and
make it look like I was trying to sober you up - "
Kathryn giggled, "Oh you sobered me up alright. Now go, enjoy your honeymoon and I'll clean up the hall."
Chakotay kissed her on the forehead and turned away, "Thank you Kathryn."
*~*~*~*~*
TWO MONTHS LATER
Kathryn had been promoted to Admiral. She was now the second 'Admiral Janeway' of their time. She stood in front of the full
length mirror and turned sidways. It wasn't showing yet, but in time she would have to explain herself, and her actions.
Could she keep this from Chakotay?
She had seen him only twice since the wedding, and once she had already known, but had refused to admit it. She couldn't
break his glass house, she couldn't ruin his life; and this child would. She ran a hand down the front of her uniform tee-
shirt and knew, even though nothing was showing yet, there was a child there. A child who deserved to know its father.
She let her breath out, even though she was not showing, she had put on eight pounds already. She sat at her terminal and
opened a line to Chakotay's ship. He was Captaining a ship that was on the border of Federation and Romulan space at the
moment, and he was due to come back in for an overhaul in two months, she would see him then, she hoped.
*~*~*~*~*
~On the Wyoming~
From the con a junior officer piped up: "Captain, there is a message coming through for you, priority one on a secure
channel."
Chakotay looked up, "Route it through to my ready room."
"Aye Captain."
Chakotay walked to his ready room and opened the channel to see Kathryn's glowing face, "Hello Admiral. What can I do for you
today?"
Kathryn sighed, "Chakotay this isn't a work call. When you come back to Earth, do you think you'll have time for a small
detour to San Fransisco for a little visit?"
Chakotay smiled, "For you Kathryn, any time."
She looked up, "So how are things going for you and Seven?"
He looked unsure, "Well so far things are going pretty well. We've been trying to have a baby since our honeymoon, but at her
last check-up it seems they found that the Borg left her barren. I guess there won't be any children in my future after all."
Kathryn wanted to tell him, she wanted to say that she was carrying his dream for the future, but she just couldn't ruin his
marriage over her selfish whim. "I'm so sorry Chakotay. I know how much having children meant to you."
He shook his head unsure, "I guess some people just aren't meant to be parents Kathryn." He paused, "I'm back on Earth in
nine weeks, I'll see you then and we can catch up on what's been going on in our lives since the wedding."
Kathryn smiled, "Sounds good, talk to you then."
"Chakotay out."
The channel went dead and all Kathryn could think of: was of the child she carried. His hope for the future, her knowledge of
the past, their dream of forever.
*~*~*~*~*
~FIVE WEEKS LATER~
Kathryn stared at her reflection in the mirror. The dress concealed her condition, and she thanked the lord that the 'Empire
Waist' was back in fashion. At 13 weeks she was starting to show, and she had a dinner sheduled with Tom and B'Elanna and
little Miral in an hour. She had yet to tell anyone of her impending motherhood, let alone of the child's parentage.
She put on her make-up and started the walk to the transport station. Tom and B'Elanna were both stationed planetside at
Starfleet headquarters, and she was hoping after today she didn't see them until she'd had a chance to talk to Chakotay about
the repercussions of their little daliance.
She walked up to the transporter operator and stated her destination. She had not used a transporter in months, and she hoped
it would be safe for the little one. Her hand subconsciously strayed to her abdomen.
"Good evening ma'am. Destination?"
Kathryn smiled at the young man, "San Francisco, Starfleet headquarters."
The operator nodded. "Is your pattern stored in the database ma'am?"
Kathryn hesitated. "Yes, but I haven't used the transporters in close to three months, and there have been some changes since
then."
The transporter operator just stared at her with a blank look. "Yes ma'am and what is your name? And the changes so I can
adjust the tranporter parameters."
Kathryn sighed, "My name is Kathryn Janeway, and I'm currently a little over three months pregnant."
The operator nodded, "Is that Admiral Kathryn Janeway?"
Janeway nodded.
"You do realize that the moment I change the parameters of the transport, it will be knowledge that will be accessible to
Starfleet Command."
Kathryn nodded, "I know, I suppose it was time to divulge my secret anyway."
"Very well Admiral, can you please stand on the transporter pad and we'll get started."
"Thank you Lieutenant." She felt the molecules of her body dematerialize and she felt herself taking form in the transporter
room at headquarters. She stepped off the pad and made her way up to the family living quarters where B'Elanna and Tom were
waiting for her.
Kathryn flattened the front of her dress and rang the chime. B'Elanna answered the door, little Miral in her arms. "Hello
Admiral. Nice to see you again."
Kathryn reached out for the infant and B'Elanna passed Miral to her former Captain. "Well look at you. I haven't seen you
since the day you were born."
Tom grinned, "She looks good on you Admiral. Maybe its time you tried for one of your own."
Kathryn smiled, "Soon enough Tom."
B'Elanna ran up to her, "You're pregnant?"
Kathryn merely nodded, and let a smile grace her porcelain features. "Well congratulations Kathryn, so who's the lucky guy."
Kathryn looked down and refused to meet their gaze. B'Elanna could see the tears beginning to pool in Kathryn's eyes.
"Kathryn...how far along are you?"
She wiped the beginnings of the tears from her eyes and looked up. "About 13 weeks."
B'Elanna smiled, "That's great Katryn, you're past the danger point." They both looked to Tom and she could see the wheels
turning.
"Oh my god Kathryn. Chakotay got married 13 weeks ago. Is that his - "
B'Elanna looked to Kathryn and she nodded. "But he's married to Seven. Does he know?"
Kathryn shook her head, "Not yet B'Elanna. When he comes to Earth in another month, I'll tell him then."
Tom chuckled, "You know, if you two had've done this a couple of years ago, I'd be rich."
Kathryn rolled her eyes. "Glad I could stop one of your bets from coming to fruition there Tom."
Tom Smiled, "No seriously Kathryn, congratulations."
Kathryn went up to Tom and enveloped him in a hug. "Thank you Tom," she paused. "I was also wondering if you'd like to be
this little one's godfather...and B'Elanna of course her godmother."
B'Elanna and Tom locked eyes, "Of course Kathryn. You're Miral's godmother: You said yes to us, how could we say no to you."
Kathryn nodded her thanks and they all sat down to eat.
*~*~*~*~*
~A Month later~
At Seventeen weeks pregnant, just over four months; anyone who looked at her small frame knew she carried a child. She was
waiting for Chakotay's ship to arrive and according to her sources it had arrived at Utopia Planetia, two hours ago. Judging
by this timeframe, people should be disembarking onto Earth within the next few minutes.
Seven was also on this transport, and she would be coming to meet her too. Kathryn had a bad feeling about this. This was not
something that she really wanted aired in public. She knew though, that the moment the couple saw her current state,
questions would be asked. Since she had not mentioned a liason, or a relationship with anyone to Chakotay she knew would have
his suspicions.
Finally, after waiting on Earth for 35 minutes she heard the transporter come to life. Chakotay stood in front of her
finally. He ran over and put his arms around her enveloping her in a hug. "Gods, I missed you Kathryn." He felt something jab
him in the stomach and looked down at her changed form.
Kathryn waved her hand at him, "Hi."
"I see congratulations are in order."
Kathryn swiftly changed the subject, "Where's Seven?"
"Oh she went to visit the doctor on Jupiter Station, and won't be on Earth for another three days."
Kathryn nodded, "Shall we go get a coffee?"
Chakotay stepped back and took her hands, resting them on the rise of her stomach. "Is it mine?"
Kathryn looked at him, into him. "I don't think this is something we should discuss here."
Chakotay nodded. "Well we could go to my ship or your house, you have one I presume."
Kathryn dropped her eyes to the ground. "Actually I have an appointment with the doctor, my doctor...not our E.M.H., he said
something about a previous engagement - now I know it was a meeting with Seven - if you'd like you can come and then we'll
talk on the way."
Chakotay nodded his acknowledgment and they started their walk to Starfleet Medical.
*~*~*~*~*
Once they got on the way walking to Starfleet Medical, Kathryn turned to Chakotay. "So you want to know about the baby."
He looked at her with anger, and daggers swelling in his eyes: "I want to know if its mine."
She brought her hand up and slapped him on the face. "Seventeen weeks pregnant Chakotay. That makes it during your wedding.
What do you think I am a whore that would sleep with anyone?"
"That's not what I meant Kath - "
She cut him off mid-sentence. "Then what do you mean Chakotay? Of course its your baby."
"Well, why didn't you say anything before now?"
Kathryn drew in a deep breath. "You're married...to a former member of my crew. You're my former first officer: We were never
an item..."
"We should have been Kathryn."
"Well that's neither here nor there is it, you made your choice when you infiltrated the Borg's lair."
"That's not fair Kathryn - "
"Two weeks. That's all you would have had to wait Chakotay. Two weeks, we would have been home and I would have been yours."
He sighed, "I had no way of knowing we would have been home that quickly."
"Well you couldn't have loved me that much then."
"Kathryn...Seven and I are dissolving the marriage. She left to see the Doctor while I went to see you. We realized that we
made a mistake."
Kathryn laughed: a sardonic laugh, "Oh right and it has nothing to do with this?" She pointed to her distended abdomen.
Chakotay sighed again, "I didn't even know about that before today!"
She let her head fall to her hands and covered her face. "It's been hard Chakotay. All by myself, a baby on the way, never
knowing if its father was going to be a part of their life. Knowing I had lost you to her." She sniffled.
He drew her into his arms, "I'm here Kathryn. I can be yours forever. We can raise our child together...if that's what you
want."
Kathryn let the flood gates open and cried for everything she had lost and possibly gained. "Do you mean that?"
He brushed his hand across her head, and then brought his hand up under her chin, raising her face so that she was looking at
him. "More than you can ever know. It should have been you I married, not Seven." He reached in his pocket and pulled out a
velvet box. Inside was a beautiful blue diamond ring. "I saw this, and all I could think was how perfectly it would match
your eyes."
Kathryn started crying again. "You had this before you knew about the baby?"
He nodded, "This was my reason for coming to Earth. After having you, Seven couldn't hold a candle."
"And you're okay with the baby?"
He smiled, "Kathryn you've made all my dreams come true."
Kathryn snorted, "I highly doubt that a fat fiancee, an ex-wife and an unplanned baby on the way make your dreams come true."
He leaned down and kissed her. "You make my dreams come true love."
Kathryn blushed at the insinuation. "Seven is everything that most men want. Perfect body, perfect look, intelligent as all
hell - "
Chakotay cut her off with a kiss. "She's not what I want. What I want is you, all of you." He placed a hand on her ever-
expanding waistline.
They arrived at Starfleet Medical, and they entered hand in hand. The doctor took a look at the two of them and stated, "And
this must be the ever-elusive father-to-be." The doctor paused and looked at the man who had entered his medical practice,
"Hey wait a minute aren't you Commander Chakotay from Voyager?"
Chakotay nodded, and lifted Kathryn up and placed her on the biobed. "Now let's check her and the baby and then you can tell
me they're both okay and ready to go."
The doctor raised the arch over top of Kathryn and Chakotay watched in wonder as the image of his child appeared. This
child's heartbeat, Kathryn's heartbeat, they appeared to beat in tandem as he watched the child squirm and move in the
excitement of love.
Chakotay bent over and kissed Kathryn on the forehead. "She's beautiful Kathryn."
The arch lowered and Kathryn sat up, "She?"
Chakotay blushed, "I always pictured us with a girl."
Kathryn smiled, "So did I, but do you think that maybe we should find out what the sex of the baby is before we get too
comfortable thinking its a little girl?"
Chakotay looked at her, asking her if she wanted the proof. She nodded and the doctor showed them the internal image of their
daughter. "Yes it's a girl."
They both smiled and turned to leave. The doctor looked up from his readings. "Well mother and daughter are doing fine, and
they should be okay for the duration of the pregnancy. So..."
Kathryn wrapped her arms around Chakotay's neck and kissed him for all she was worth. "Let's go back to my place."
He grinned, "Sounds good my love."
And so life continued.
*~*~*~*~*
Chakotay grinned, "I think you're beautiful Kat and you're going to give me a beautiful baby girl, who I hope looks exactly
like her mother."
Kathryn rolled her eyes, "Beautiful? Yeah right, I'm huge, and full of hormones."
"Hey don't curse the hormones they're doing some pretty amazing things for our daughter." He placed his hands on her belly,
"How big did the doctor guess she was last time."
Kathryn shook her head, "That's what scares me, he's guessing her at around 7lbs already and I have two months to go. He
said, since I'm such a tiny woman that its possible I won't go to term." She glared at him, "Thanks to the father's
genetics."
"Well if someone hadn't been so jealous on my wedding day, none of this would have happened." He pointed at her tummy.
She gave him a half smile and placed her hand on her belly, "But I'm glad it did. I can't imagine life without her now."
"I can't picture life without either of you." He stared at Kathryn, "You look tired Kat, want to go to bed?"
She nodded, "Sounds like a plan. You know Chakotay, I was thinking...after the baby's born, maybe I won't go back to work.
Maybe there are some things more important than being the next 'Admiral Janeway'."
Chakotay looked surprised at Kathryn, "Are you sure that's what you want? Starfleet is what you've been working for and the
Admiralty is what you've been striving towards your entire life: your entire career."
Kathryn grinned, "You know what's weird though? I never thought anything would be better, or more rewarding: Then I got
pregnant, and all of a sudden...life in Starfleet did not matter as much." She sighed, "All of a sudden life with the baby
and with you was all I wanted."
Chakotay stared at her, and took her hands. "You know I love you dear, and you know I want you to be happy...but are you sure
this is what you really want? Are you sure you could live a life without Starfleet and Command Structures? Are you sure you
could give up everything you've lived your whole life for?"
Kathryn nodded and Chakotay once again took her and drew her to him. "You know what I think Chakotay? I think we should go
and visit my mother. I haven't seen her in a while, she doesn't know where I've been and she is not privy to knowledge about
the baby."
Chakotay's jaw dropped open. "She doesn't know you're pregnant?"
Kathryn shook her head, "And she doesn't know about our engagement."
"Well then, I think that now would be a good time, before we're forced to go back up to the ship. Good thing I had an
appointment with Starfleet Command today and was forced back to earth for a 48 hour meeting." He paused, "But I do have
tonight off."
Kathryn walked up to Chakotay's communications terminal. She opened a line to Bloomington Indian, "Hey mom."
Gretchen covered her mouth with her hands, "Kathryn...I was wondering when I was going to hear from you again."
She drew in a deep breath, "Mom, I have some news for you, and someone for you to meet."
She looked suspiciously at her daughter. "Well then you'd better come home for supper."
Kathryn smiled and nodded, "Sounds great mom, see you tonight."
She walked back into their living room, "Well Chakotay seems we're going to mom's house for dinner tonight."
Chakotay stared at her, "Sounds like fun, but I have to get to headquarters to meet with Admiral Parsons before any of that
can happen."
Kathryn drew him in for a kiss, "Just as long as you come back here to pick me up before supper, I'm okay with that."
Chakotay smiled and gave her one last hug. He placed his hands on her tummy as he leaned down and spoke to the child within,
"Now you don't give your mother too much trouble okay?" He rubbed her belly one last time, "Now you know Kathryn, if anything
happens, I'm just a comm. call away."
Kathryn nodded, "I know."
~six hours later~
Chakotay sauntered into Kathryn's appartment. "That was long and tedious."
Kathryn chuckled, "Now you know what I dealt with while I was stuck in the Delta Quadrant...except I didn't have the brass to
back me up. Just me and my many decisions."
Chakotay rubbed her shoulders, "Yes and all of them were good ones weren't they 'Admiral'. You did get a promotion and all
your decisions were cleared by Starfleet when you got back."
She laughed, "True, but I know some of the Fleet brass did not agree with many of my decisions."
He sighed, "Come here baby. I know that many of your decisions were tough, and some of them I didn't agree with, but know
that no matter what I always supported you."
She giggled, "Even when I relieved you of duty, or threw you in the brig for insubordination?"
"Even then."
He leaned down and claimed her lips with his. "So when is your mother expecting us for supper?"
"Not until 1900, that means we still have a couple of hours...can you think of anything that you might want to do while we're
waiting?"
Chakotay leered at her, "Well..." His hand came up to cup her chin and bring her face up to his. Slowly his other hand made
his way up to her swollen breast. He pulled away, "I say we continue this in the bedroom."
Kathryn pulled away, "You really can't find me that attractive right now. Look at me, I'm huge!"
He gently rubbed her cheek and then brought his hand down to her abdomen, where their daughter lay. "This," he pointed at her
protruding belly, "was made by the most enchanting, beautiful experience of my life." He pulled her up to a kiss full of
promise. He lifted her shirt up to view the hemisphere of her tummy. "Kathryn, this is the most extraordinary thing anyone
has ever done for me. You're giving me a future, a child to carry on the bloodline," he paused, "I love you more than life
itself."
Kathryn blushed under the praise. "Well if you fancy my swollen body as something you can live with, let's take this to the
bedroom."
*~*~*~*~*
The pair shuffled into the bedroom, and stripped layer after layer of cloths off as they came in. down to their
undergarments, Chakotay stared at the woman that was now his forever. The softness of her curves exciting him, he felt his
boxers get tighter the more he stared at her body. "You know Kathryn, you filled out quite nicely with this baby."
Kathryn felt her whole body get red as she blushed from head to toe, "You mean as I got fat with this baby."
He walked up to her and leaned her down onto the bed, "Kathryn...you're pregnant: not fat."
"While I appreciate that, I THINK I'm fat."
Chakotay sighed, "Well, I'll just have to prove you wrong."
Kathryn looked at him with pleading in her eyes, for him to do just that. He pulled her underwear down and snapped the clasp
of the bra off. "You are so lovely Kathryn. I don't think you realize what a beautiful sight you are to behold."
"I hardly think right now that's what I am. I think I'm an overweight - " He cut her off with a kiss that took her breath
away. Slowly he made his way down to her swollen breasts, his tongue circling the areola, the nipples getting taut and
engorged with the thought of what he was going to do to her. He sucked on them and she drew in a breath in pain and
anticipation. He looked up to her face, afraid that he had hurt her, "Kathryn, do you want me to stop. I didn't mean to hurt
you."
She smiled at him, "Don't stop, just be careful."
He slowed down and lightened up. He heard her moan and he knew he was hitting all the right places. "Oh...Chakotay."
He licked down, below her sensitive mounds and to the surface that hid their child. He worked his way down until he stopped
just under her belly. He nipped at the sensitive skin there and his hand dove into the hair that covered her pubic area:
tickling her and making his way down to the sensitive nub. "Oh...Chakotay." She bucked under his touch, as her clit became
oversensitized. Just when she thought she couldn't take any more he dove one finger then two and eventually three, he
stretched her and all she could think was this was heaven.
She reached the climax of her orgasm for the third time, when he positioned himself at her opening and looked her in the
eyes. "Ready dear?"
She nodded beyond the ability to speak any longer. He dove into her, waiting at the hilt for her to adjust to his size again.
"Chakotay, I love you."
He looked into her eyes and knew she told the truth. "I love you too Kathryn." He began slowly moving inside her. They were
both just about at their climax when the baby decided to move her small body against Kathryn's cervix, heightening the orgasm
and causing Chakotay to cum at the feel of her muscles clenching his shaft. "Kathryn!" He yelled out.
When they were both finished they lay sated and Kathryn turned around to stare into Chakotay's eyes. "That was wonderful
Chakotay."
He stared into the deep blue depts of her eyes, "Yes for both of us I see."
Kathryn smiled and turn to look at him as she rubbed her tummy. "I think we disturbed someone with our lovemaking dear."
Chakotay's hand reached out to attempt to quiet the movement of the ill-at-rest child. "Maybe, but we needed a time to quelch
our thirsts and fulfill our fantasies, both of which I think occurred."
She nodded, "What time is it?"
"1830. Why?"
"Because we have to be at mom's in half and hour."
Kathryn jumped in the sonic shower and tried to erase any residue of their lovemaking. "God Chakotay, hurry up. The last
thing we need is to be late at mom's smelling of sex."
Chakotay grinned, "I think the satisfied look on your face and your current condition are proof enough."
Kathryn glared at him. "Ha, ha, ha. Let's get moving."
At exactly 1850 they arrived at the transport station and were beamed directly to her mother's front walk-way. They made
their way down the walk and saw Phoebe's brood standing in the doorway waiting. Phoebe looked at her mother, "Is that
Kathryn? There seems to be more of her than the last time we saw her."
Gretchen took a closer look. "Oh my god Phoebe, I think she's pregnant."
Phoebe went running out the door. "Oh god Kathryn! You're pregnant!"
Kathryn held out her arms for the hug from the youngest member of the Janeway clan. "Am I? I hadn't noticed."
Phoebe gave a glare in Kathryn's diretion, then looked at the man to her side. "Is this the father?"
Kathryn nodded and Phoebe let out a low whistle. "Well you never do anything half-way do you Kathryn. You brought mom a new
grandbaby in the works and a future son-in-law." Phoebe placed a hand on Kathryn's tummy. "You guys sure didn't waste any
time, you have to be what six months along?"
Kathryn tilted her head, "Actually I'm seven and a half months along."
"You're one of those lucky people it seems Katie, you're all baby."
Kathryn's jaw dropped, "I beg your pardom missy: I'm huge!"
Phoebe glared at Kathryn, "You should have seen me at almost eight months. I was twice your size, and the baby wasn't even
that big."
Kathryn shook her head, "Well," she rubbed her belly, "The doctor said this one's already almost seven pounds."
Phoebe looked at her. "You sure you still have a month and a half to go? If that's right you're going to have one really big
baby on your hands."
Gretchen came out after Phoebe refused to let Kathryn go. "My baby!"
Kathryn smiled, "Hey, mom."
Gretchen ran up and hugged her daughter. "Phoebe is hogging you I see." She looked at Kathryn, "And I see you brought me a
grandbaby and a son-in-law."
"Soon," Kathryn stated as she raised her ring finger and showed them all the blue diamond adorning her hand.
Phoebe took a closer look, "My god Kathryn, its beautiful. So the man is cute and has good taste. You do always seem to get
the good ones Katie."
Kathryn moved away from her over-zealous family. "I am so glad to see you guys." She paused looking at her family, and her
soon-to-be family, "It has been too long."
Gretchen stared at her oldest daughter, "Yes and speaking of which...you've been home for what eight months now? And this is
the first I've seen of you?"
Kathryn blushed at the insensitivity she had shown towards her family, "Actually...since I've been home for nearly eight
months now - hence the reason I'm seven and a half months pregnant - I apologize for not seeing you before now; but I was
busy." She rubbed her hands over the hump that was her baby and their future.
Gretchen smiled, "Yes I can see that." she stated pointing at Kathryn's belly. She turned around and smiled at Chakotay,
"Finally made an honest woman out of my Kathryn huh?"
Chakotay grinned, and Kathryn nearly fainted at the sight of the dimples in all their glory. "Well I hope to. I'm only on
assignment for another month, then we're coming home and getting married and Kathryn will have the baby and then I think
my'future wife' is done with Starfleet."
Gretchen looked to Kathryn, "Say its true, you're done with the long space-travels, the months without seeing you, the
possibility that every time you go out you might not come back?"
Kathryn nodded, "In the Delta Quadrant, I had enough space travel and exploration to do me for a lifetime."
"Oh that is so wonderful honey." Gretchen hugged Kathryn yet again. Kathryn turned to Chakotay, "Well we'd better get going
inside: 'the baby is hungry'."
Chakotay looked at Kathryn, "Honestly Kathryn, you're the one who is hungry aren't you?"
Kathryn turned crimson, "Alright...it's me who is hungry. I am eating for two after all."
Chakotay grabbed Kathryn's arm and pulled her to him, "And you do eat alot now too." He changed his look and stared at
Gretchen, "You know before I had to force her to eat three meals a day, now I can't keep enough food around our cabin."
Gretchen laughed, "Well you should have seen Phoebe here when she had one of theses children in her tummy. You couldn't keep
enough food around the house."
Phoebe glared at her mother. "You know that doesn't work on me."
Kathryn giggled, "Yes Chakotay, after all these years she is impervious to the 'Janeway death glares'."
*~*~*~*~*
Chakotay put his thumb print on the padd. This was it, his life with Seven had officially been disolved. He looked over to
his fiancee. Ever since they had become 'an item' Kathryn had been stationed on his ship. The baby would be here in a couple
of months. Having an Admiral on the ship had its advantages, but made the junior officers very nervous. They would be back on
Earth in a month's time for extended leave. They would get married, Kathryn would have the baby and then who knew. He had
scheduled three months off when he returned to Earth, and hopefully at that time, they would decide what they were going to
do.
Kathryn proudly wore her engagement ring, proving that she was his. Everyone knew they were an item and that they had a baby
on the way.
Tom and B'Elanna were proud that they were finally right about the former command couple, and little Miral who was Kathryn
and Chakotay's god child was getting big. Kathryn took any chance she could to get some practice in with her god-daughter,
god knew she'd need it.
*~*~*~*~*
Kathryn flopped on the couch. "God, I can't possibly get much bigger Chakotay, but I still have alsmot two months to go."
Chakotay rolled his eyes, "You're not that big Kathryn." He smiled placing his hand on her tummy, feeling is daughter move.
"And I think it only makes you look more beautiful."
During her pregnancy Kathryn had filled out nicely. The weight she had gained was weight that Chakotay thought she had needed
to have on her body anyway. Her scrawny and toned physique had rounded out to a nice form. He loved the way she looked now.
Not to say that he didn't love her and her body before, but the pregnancy just made her more attractive to him.
He pulled her down to the couch beside him, "You know that as soon as the baby is born Kathryn, you'll go right down to your
normal size."
She stared at him, "I hope so Chakotay."
*~*~*~*~*
Kathryn and Chakoty were finally off for the duration of Kathryn's pregnancy. According to the doctor she had three weeks
left to go. They were stationed on Earth for the duration and though her mother had tried time and time again to get Kathryn
to move in with her she had politely declined. She needed to get hers and Chakotay's life together before the baby came and
they had to re-arrange their life once more.
Two hours until her wedding day. She could not believe she was here getting ready for her wedding day and she was ready to
pop. She put a hand to her ever expanding waistline. She had been having what she assumed where false labour pains all day.
They were nothing extremely hard to endure, and they didn't last long, and over the course of the day...they hadn't been
getting worse.
She slipped the white satin dress over her body and got ready to say her 'I do's'.
She walked to the back of the church and saw most of her Voyager family in attendance. She smiled at Tom and B'Elanna,
Admiral Paris was ready to walk her down the aisle and her mother and sister were waiting for her appearance.
The music began, played by Harry who had taken a week off just so that he could come to his former Captain and Commander's
wedding. Kathryn took her first step on her journey to destination 'Mrs. Chakotay'. Kathryn reached the front and turned to
smile at her soon-to-be husband. His voice rang out first, "You are so beautiful Kathryn, and you will soon be my wife, and
mother to my children."
Kathryn smiled up at him a wistful look on her face, "Soon Chakotay, and we'll have to talk about this children thing. Not
sure I want to do this again."
Chakotay grinned and looked to the 'priest': a.k.a. 'Voyager's infamous EMH'.
The doctor looked at the couple in front of him and bent over to Kathryn and whispered, "About time."
Kathryn smiled at the doctor and he performed the ceremony. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the
bride."
Chakotay leaned over and kissed Kathryn, and she felt like she was floating on air. The hoots and hollars and the similar
feelings as the doctor from the rest of the former Voyager crew proved to Kathryn that this was indeed the right decision.
Kathryn leaned farther into the kiss, and it felt like it lasted forever, and it felt so right. Her right hand to her belly
and felt the baby move along with another tightening of her uterus. She broke the kiss and looked to the doctor. "Doctor, I
need to ask you a question in your medical capacity."
The doctor nodded urging her to continue. "Am I supposed to be feeling minor contractions and three weeks before my due
date?"
The doctor looked at her quizically. "I need a medical tricorder to check you out Admiral, but as you know I'm not in charge
of your prenatal care."
Kathryn gave him a death glare, "It was simply a question doctor."
The doctor nodded. The church had almost emptied out becaue of the end of the ceremony. Chakotay looked over to Kathryn, "You
okay Kat?"
Kathryn nodded reassuringly and took his hand leading him towards to the reception area. She looked around and noticed the
happy faces. B'Elanna walked up to Chakotay, "Finally got it right huh old man."
He smiled, "Yup, finally got it right."
Chakotay looked over to where Kathryn was gently rubbing circles on her belly he looked closer. "The baby has dropped Kat."
She nodded, "I know Chakotay."
He stared at her, "What aren't you telling me Kathryn."
She smiled, "Oh nothing Chakotay. I'm fine."
She walked over to the punch bowl, "So has Tom gotten to this one? Or is it safe for me to drink."
Tom rushed over, "I, uh, wouldn't admiral."
She looked at him raising an eyebrow, "That's what I thought Tom."
The party went on most of the night, "Let's go home love. I want nothing more than to make passionate love to you. Let's
christen the bed as a married couple."
Kathryn nodded, "Can we stop by the doctor's office first Chakotay?"
Chakotay looked at her and brought his hands to her back. "My god Kathryn, your back is in knots."
She looked at him and smiled, "On and off."
He stared at her, "Just how on and off are we talking Kathryn?"
She shook her head, "Every seven minutes or so."
He stared at her, "And you're just telling me now!"
She stared at him sheepishly, "Well until I got our EMH to scan me, I didn't think much of it. I mean look at how many times
B'Elanna had false labour pains before the real thing really started."
He sighed, "Yes but she wasn't three weeks early."
"When I disappeared for a few minutes, the doctor checked me over. He said I was about 5cm dilated, 80% effaced and I still
had a ways to go."
Chakotay shook his head. "Well I guess we'd better get home and have you relax then, it could be a long night..." He was
speaking to her but realized she hadn't heard a word he'd said. "Kathryn?"
She breathed out a heavy breath, "It's over now."
"Kathryn I'm taking you to Starfleet medical."
Kathryn looked at him with a puppy dog look and pleading eyes, "Can we got home and let me get changed first?"
"Kathryn - " It was then that her water broke, and she cried out in pain, as another contraction hit her in earnest. "Oh, my
god Chakotay." She leaned into him, "It hurts."
Chakotay had never in his life seen Kathryn like this. Normally she took pain with a grain of salt, but here she was
paralyzed by it. "I guess its a good thing that everyone went to the reception and gave us some time alone.
"Chakotay, I still want to have this baby at home."
Chakotay shook his head, "I have never seen you like this Kathryn, and you want to endure it voluntarily?"
Kathryn nodded vigorously. "I need to feel this Chakotay, and I want Tom and B'Elanna there too."
Chakotay nodded, "Your choice, but if anything happens, I'm transporting you right away to Starfleet medical." Kathryn moaned
and nodded.
The doctor came up to the couple, who at the moment had their hands full. "Doctor, can you come home with us? Kathryn is
insisting on having this baby at home."
The doctor shook his head. "Really Admiral, in this day and age?"
Kathryn glared at the doctor, "I want to do this doctor. No drugs, no painkillers."
The doctor shrugged, "Fine, and yes I'll come with you."
She looked to Chakotay, "I want Tom and B'Elanna there too."
Chakotay nodded, "Fine but let's get you home and settled first."
Kathryn nodded, as Chakotay called for the transporter operator to whisk them away. The doctor stayed behind to try and find
Tom and B'Elanna, he would soon come with their two best friends.
Chakotay took the large pillows that Kathryn had obviously been collecting while readying herself for the birth. "You never
had any intention of delivering at Starfleet Medical did you?"
Kathryn looked at him, "No; and if I had told you, you would have tried to convince me not to do it." Kathryn took in a deep
breath and began moaning, hoping that she'd be able to handle the pain as the labnour progressed.
There was a chime at the door and Chakotay left her for a moment to answer the door and Tom and B'Elanna along with the
doctor entered. "Now let's see what we have here."
Kathryn finished breathing away the pain and looked to the doctor. "What do you think we have here, me in labour."
Tom looked at Chakotay, "You're a brave man Chakotay, taking on Kathryn in labour."
"She didn't give me much of a choice in the matter."
The doctor approached her with a tricorder in his hand. "You're still 5cm, but you're 100% effaced now, and since you're
water has broken things should progess much faster now." Kathryn nodded as another contraction began.
"I know I wanted to do this all natural Chakotay, but I never, thought it would be this bad."
chakotay shook his head, "You never do things the easy way isn't that what your father once told you?"
Kathryn nodded as the labour pains began again.
[2 hour later - Janeway home]
"If you had any ideas of a large family, you can put those to rest. I am never doing this again."
Chakotay stared at his wife. He had never seen her like this. He felt Tom walk up to him. "Don't worry big man she'll forget
about the pain once she's holding her daughter."
Kathryn had sweat pouring down her face as she stared at Tom, "I don't think I'll ever forget this!"
Kathryn moanted as yet another contraction began.
Chakotay watched as she squatted, attempting to make more room for the baby to pass. "Kathryn maybe we should have the doctor
check you."
Kathryn shook her head as she screamed out as the pain intensified.
Kathryn stook up and leaned against the wall, swaying her hips back and forth. All of a sudden Chakotay heard her begin to
pant and walked towards her.
"Chakotay, I can feel the baby."
Chakotay spun around towards the doctor. "Doctor, she's crowning!"
The doctor walked over to Chakotay, "Calm down Captain, panicking is not good for the patient."
The doctor stared at the Admiral, "I need you to lay down Admiral so I can check you."
Kathryn shook her head vigorously, "No! I want to stay standing."
"But Admiral -"
She glared at him, "I said no!"
The doctor stared at her and could tell she was pushing, "Admiral I must really insist." He scanned her, "This baby is coming
breach."
Chakotay looked stricken as if he'd been slapped in the face as he stared at his wife struggling through the job of bringing
their daughter into the world. "Kathryn, please listen to the doctor."
Kathryn squatted and then sat down on the floor as the contraction ended.
The doctor quickly ran over to her. He looked between her legs and saw the baby's bottom. "Well at least we don't have a
footling breach on our hands."
Chakotay looked at the doctor shocked, "You're going to let her try to do this here? Are you out of your mind?"
The doctor sighed, "Despite the Admiral's small size, I thinks he will be able to deliver this child naturally if she so
chooses."
Kathryn nodded and felt the urge to push take her over again. She yelled out as the baby's bottom was delivered up to her
hips. "It's a girl."
Chakotay walked up to her, "We already knew that, how's she doing?"
"The baby or the admiral."
"Both! Just tell me they're going to be okay."
The doctor stared at the Captain. "They will both be fine." He stared at Chakotay, "Why don't you go and sit behind the
Admiral on the ground and help her through this."
Chakotay repositioned himself and placed his hands on her abdomen, feeling the muscles tightening. He felt Kathryn pusing,
and moved the hair out of her face. "I'm so proud of you."
Kathryn sniffled and continued her struggles trying to get the baby into the world.
The doctor looked up at the couple, "She's delivered up to the head; she should be here on the next push Admiral."
Kathryn nodded and waited for what she hoped was the final contraction to take her over.
Kathryn felt tears come to her eyes as she strained against the last contraction and finally felt the baby’s head free itself from her body.
The child let out a hearty cry and Kathryn knew everything would be okay.
[3 years later – Bloomington Indiana]
Kathryn stared at her daughter, ‘Taya’ as she scurried across her grandmother’s yard. Today was her third birthday.
They had tried for more children – despite the fact that she had vehemently told Chakotay she would never do it again – but it appeared that there would be no more children in their future.
Kathryn smiled, it didn’t matter, they would just have to love Taya with everything that they had. They had up until this point, and so they would simply continue.
Taya ran up to her mother, “Mommy, grandma said that I was going to have a cake tonight!”
Kathryn laughed, “Yes and lots of presents.”
Taya clapped her hands excitedly, “I like birthdays mom.”
Kathryn laughed internally, *And you will until you get to my age.*
She hugged Taya and picked her up bringing her to the table where all the presents and cake and ice cream were waiting. “Okay well Taya, seems like it will be a happy birthday for you. Look at all these presents.”
Taya grabbed the largest one and began tearing the paper off. It was from Tom and B’Elanna. She opened it and saw a wooden rocking horse. “Horsie pretty mom.”
Kathryn nodded, “Yes the horsie is very pretty.”
An hour later, Taya had tired herself out with all the excitement and fallen asleep in her father’s arms.
Chakotay put his finger to his lips in a quiet motion and proceeded to bring the child upstairs to her room.
B’Elanna looked at Kathryn, “So did you life turn out well Kathryn?”
“Not as I expected, but I wouldn;t trade it for anything in the world.”
